The President of National Council of Women Societies, Hajiya Adamu Lami Lau is dead, Lami died on Tuesday after a brief illness.
The council while confirming the sad incident in said With profound sorrow, we regret to announce the passing of our beloved National President, Hajiya Lami Adamu Lau, of the National Council of Women Societies (NCWS) Nigeria. She departed this life in the late hours of June 4, 2024, after a brief illness at Kebbi State where she went for an official assignment.
The council in a statement signed by it’s 2nd Vice President, Hajiya Binta Suleman Ibrahim, described the late Lami as a dedicated leader.
“Hajiya Lami Adamu Lau, a dedicated leader and champion of women’s empowerment, will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her tireless efforts and contributions to the betterment of our society will never be forgotten.
“She will be laid to rest today in her hometown in Lau, Taraba State, in accordance with Islamic rites. Further arrangements and details will be communicated in due course.
“We mourn the loss of our dear leader and mother. We pray that God grants us and her family the strength and grace to bear this irreparable loss.
Hajiya Lami Adamu Lau who was born on the 8th of August 1962, she was elected on the 31 of March 2022 as the 15th National President of the council and she assume office on the 1 of April 2022 She was age 62 Years
She left behind a legacy that will continue to inspire and motivate us all. May her soul rest in eternal peace, Ibrahim added.
