The commissioner for Empowerment and Cooperative in Osun state, prince Ogungbangbe made this assertion at the opening of a five day Skills Acquisition and Empowerment program organized by Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria , ANISET Integrated Services LTD and Right -Tract Consult Engineering Limited in collaboration with Senator Adenigba Fadahunsi for 350 people of Osun East Senatorial District on poultry farminIH
Prince Bayo Ogungbangbe said with the initiative, many redundant constituents could migrate from below the poverty line and be self reliant.
Lauding the organizers, especially, senator for looking in the direction of poultry farming which he described as very lucrative, the commissioner for Empowerment and Cooperative said the program was the sixth of its kind that would be organized by Senator Fadahunsi in the last 30 days.
The coordinator of the program, mrs Victoria Oyewusi, the initiator of One Community, One Industry, noted the 350 beneficiaries will be given a day old chicks, starter packs, feeds, drinkers, vaccine, crates and grants.
Mrs Oyewusi emphasized that there would be a post training follow up with more financial backing, stressing that there is a ready made market for the chicken in case the beneficiaries encountered difficulties in disposing them.
Speaking on the reason for the program, Senator Fadahunsi said he had always been exhibiting unwavering love to help unemployed individuals around him before he ventured into politics, describing the program as one of the ways to give back to the society that made him.
Senator Fadahunsi enjoined beneficiaries of the skill acquisition program to pay attention throughout the training session with a view to maximizing the opportunities provided program.
A beneficiary expressed optimism that his life would not remain the same after the training given the opportunities embedded in poultry farming.
The skill acquisition program continues tomorrow with a practical session at ten o’ clock in the morning.
