The National PDP Professionals and Business Group (NPPBG)*, has called on NEC of our great party to ensure tomorrow’s meeting solves all lingering issues and re-unite our party.
The group in a statement by her National Working Committee (NWC) on Wednesday the 17th day of April, 2024 in Abuja, call on Our Party’s NEC to rebuild, rebrand and reposition PDP with her deliberations.
NPPBG also tasks NEC to put the Party interest above their Personal Interest and rise up to the occasion as the only credible opposition Party in Nigeria.
“The current NWC of our dear Party under the leadership of Amb. Damangu has done their best. Unfortunately their revered efforts have not moved the party forward. The Group pointed out that it will in the overall Interest of the Party to have a substantive Chairman, who will champion the repositioning of our great Party without interference by the government in power.
“We welcome the NEC members to the long over due Meeting and wish them a Clement deliberations that will end Party Leadership crisis in Rivers and Imo states.
We are looking forward to a robust deliberations on the issues that has eaten up the fabric of our great Party.
The NWC of NPPBG believe that it would afford members of the NEC the platform to ventilate their opinions on the happenings in the Party concerning the defections of elected members and Zonal crisis with South East Zone as a case study.
Also, the Group believes that the seat of the National Chairman of the party, is a very crucial one, and averred that there was no basis for anyone to suggest that the seat be thrown open or zoned to any other region apart from North Central.
” Our party PDP, has a constitution, the grand norm of its existence, which provides for two deputy Chairmen and when there is vacancy in the seat of The National Chairman, the deputy chairman from the same zone where the embattled National Chairman comes from will act for a period of time until a decision is taken through NEC meeting or mini Convention .
We submit that the seat of National Chairman should be retained by the North Central Zone of our Party
The cost of living is so high that Nigerians need a credible Party to trust in the 2027 General Election and Your decisions should aim at that, to reposition our Party to take over Government comes 2027.
All eyes are on our Party NEC and the expectations is to give the Nation a credible Party that The People will trust.
