A non political group under the aegis of League of Yoruba Youths for Advocacy and Good Governance has strongly condemned the planned nationwide protest planned by individuals who stand as enemies of progress for our nation.
The yoruba youth group dedicated to promoting good governance and democratic values in Nigeria lead by it President General, Ambassador Adediwura Adesina revealed that such protest will be counterproductive to the efforts of the government to reshape the economic downturn in the country.
Adediwura further stated that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, through his visionary leadership, has spearheaded several initiatives that have significantly impacted the lives of Nigerians across various sectors. “His commitment to good governance and sustainable development has yielded notable achievements.
The league of Yoruba youths said that “any actions set to disrupt the peace and stability of our society is detrimental to the advancement of our beloved country and must not be allowed to thrive”.
They advised youths, and any other groups as well as all well-meaning Nigerians in the line of the planned protest to refrain from participating in this planned protest, as it threatens to undermine the unity and progress the country have since collectively strived to achieve.
“It is imperative that we stand together in solidarity and support harmonious solutions that uphold the very fabric of our nation”.
The league of Yoruba Youths however Highlighted some of the government’s several initiatives that have significantly impacted the lives of Nigerians across various sectors and President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to good governance and sustainable development which has yielded notable achievements are;
Local Government Autonomy:
President Tinubu’s advocacy for local government autonomy has enhanced grassroots governance and empowered local communities to address their unique challenges effective.
student Loan Initiatives: Under President Tinubu’s administration, the implementation of student loan schemes has provided financial assistance to numerous students, ensuring access to quality education and fostering a brighter future for our youth.
Support for Farmers:
President Tinubu’s initiatives to fortify the agricultural sector have included the introduction of “Fatalizer for Farmers,” enabling agrarian communities to enhance crop yields and bolster food security across the nation , the current price of cocoa as turn a lot of farmers to millionaire in Nigeria
Youth Empowerment through Government Positions:
The appointment of young and vibrant individuals into key government positions underscores President Tinubu’s commitment to youth empowerment, innovation, and inclusivity in governance.
Creation of the Federal Ministry of Livestock:
President Tinubu’s establishment of the Federal Ministry of Livestock reflects his dedication to agricultural development, livestock management, and the overall transformation of the agricultural landscape in Nigeria.
“In addendum to the above, as the League of Yoruba Youths for Advocacy and Good Governance, we wish to highlight some of the lesser-known yet significant contributions of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration in the realm of Humanity Development through the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation. These achievements underscore the commitment of the administration to the welfare of Nigerians across various strata of society”.
Distributin of Aid to Rainstorm Displaced Communities:
Following a devastating rainstorm in Doma and Kaena local governments of Nasarawa state, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration swiftly mobilized resources through the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation to provide palliative and relief materials to the affected communities, offering essential support during their time of need.
Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities: Recognizing the importance of inclusivity and empowerment, the administration facilitated the distribution of appliances and economic empowerment tools tailored to the unique needs of persons with disabilities. This initiative aimed to enhance their quality of life and foster their self-reliance.
Expansion of Conditional Cash Transfer Program:
Under the ambit of the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, the administration successfully executed the payment of 953,562 beneficiaries nationwide through the Conditional Cash Transfer program. This initiative has provided crucial financial assistance to vulnerable individuals and families, helping alleviate poverty and enhance social security.
Upcoming Humanitarian Initiative: In a forthcoming event scheduled for the 29th to 30th of July 2024, the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, in collaboration with ECOWAS and the Nigerian Red Cross Society, plans to undertake a significant distribution effort. This initiative involves the provision of cash payments amounting to 91,500 naira each, disbursed in three installments of 30,500 naira using prepaid cards, alongside the distribution of essential food items to further bolster the livelihoods of beneficiaries in Adamawa State.
“Despite these commendable efforts, the League of Yoruba Youths for Advocacy and Good Governance acknowledges that there may be areas warranting improvement in governance and service delivery. Nevertheless, we urge fellow Nigerians to exercise patience with the current administration and refrain from the planned protests, considering the ongoing initiatives and strides of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his cabinet towards betterment of Nigeria economy.
They urge the planners of the protest to desist from their current course of action and engage in constructive dialogue for the greater good of the nation. “Failure to heed this warning will result in necessary actions to maintain law and order in our society. Let us work together, hand in hand, to build a prosperous and united Nigeria for generations to come”.
