Before the emergence of His Excellency, Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, as the Executive Governor of Osun State, our sports sector, especially the Osogbo Township Stadium was in a dire and neglected state. After 12 years of APC misrule, not a single effort was made to rehabilitate the stadium or uplift our athletes. The sector was left to rot, and our young talents were deprived of opportunities to shine.
Today, under the dynamic leadership of Governor Adeleke, the story has dramatically changed.
Since assuming office, His Excellency has brought a new era of transformation, passion, and strategic investment into Osun’s sports landscape. The revitalization of the Osogbo Stadium, empowerment of athletes, and the surge in sporting activities are clear indicators of his commitment to youth development and grassroots sports excellence.
Our athletes are now making headlines across various sporting categories, and the energy around sports development in Osun has never been this vibrant.
