The Northern Youth Congress of Nigeria has firmly distanced itself from the Arewa Youth group’s demand for the resignation of the Minister of Defense, (rtd) Gen. Christopher Musa.
In a statement issued by its President, Amb. Auwalu Mohammed Majiri, on Wednesday, the group described the Arewa Youth as a faceless entity and an enemy of progress.
Amb. Majiri emphasized that the Northern Youth Congress has never been part of such calls and will never be. He praised Gen. Musa as a capable leader who is doing everything humanly possible to end Boko Haram insurgency in the Northeast and banditry across Nigeria.
“We, the Northern Youth Congress, stand solidly behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and (rtd) Gen. Christopher Musa,” the statement read. “Nigerians are already seeing the changes Nigeria is winning the war against insecurity.”
The group urged President Tinubu to ignore the faceless agitators, while assuring him of the Northern Youth Congress’s block votes in 2027.
