The Director-General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Campaign for the Osun 2026 governorship election, Hon. Oluwole Oke, has claimed Governor Ademola Adeleke may not appear on the ballot due to an ongoing leadership dispute in the Accord Party.

Oke, who represents Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, also predicted a sweeping APC victory in 26 of Osun State’s 30 local government areas.

He spoke to journalists after a meeting between the Ajisope Political Movement and the Fulani community, who endorsed APC governorship candidate Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO).

Oke dismissed Adeleke’s chances, insisting the APC candidate has superior credentials and political pedigree.

He forecasted that the Accord Party and African Democratic Congress (ADC) would share just four local government areas.

“Adeleke and ADC candidate Najeem Salam will win only four local governments by splitting them.

“We’re even set to challenge them strongly in Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore, and Ejigbo. We’re targeting voters directly, not relying on external factors,” Oke said.

He added: “Adeleke might not even be on the ballot because of their internal crisis. There’s another Accord Party candidate, Bamigbola they’re in court, so we don’t know who’s really competing with us.”

Ajisope Political Movement Coordinator Chief Kabir Adeoye said the group is mobilizing grassroots support for APC, particularly for President Bola Tinubu’s reelection and Oyebamiji’s gubernatorial bid. “In Orolu Local Government Area, 1,200 Accord Party members have defected to APC. We’re confident more will join before the 2026 and 2027 elections,” Adeoye noted.

Fulani Youth Leader Ahmod Abubarka endorsed Oyebamiji, stating: “We have over one million Fulani in Osun State, and we’re ready to vote for the APC gubernatorial candidate.”
