The Kwara state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is extremely saddened by the news of the passing of a beloved Senator, Dr Rafiu Adebayo Ibrahim (FCIB), who departed from this world in the early hours of Wednesday, 17th April, 2024, after a brief illness.
The party in a statement signed by its Publicity Secretary, Mr Olusegun Olusola Adewara (Sholyments), said Senator Rafiu was a refined politician who lived for his people and served them diligently until his last breath, noting that his philanthropic nature and unwavering commitment to the betterment of our society will forever be cherished.
“We at the Kwara PDP share in the grief of the family, friends, and constituents of the late Senator, and we hope that the cherished memories of Senator Rafiu’s philanthropic nature will bring solace during this challenging period.”
“In honouring his legacy, our party recognizes the significant contributions he made to both the state and our country. His departure at this crucial period is a profound loss to our Party, state and Nigeria.
Senator Rafiu lifted numerous people from their knees to their feet through various empowerment opportunities, and employments, he facilitated as a member of the House of Assembly, House of Representatives, as a Senator, and as the Chairman Senate Committee on Banking, Insurance, and other Financial Institutions.
“Our party submits that Senator Rafiu was a rare gift to Kwara state, and it will be difficult to fill the vacuum created by his death. Therefore, we pray to God to grant him a beautiful place in Al-Jannah Firdaus and give his family, political associates, and everyone touched by his death the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.”
Late Senator Rafiu Ibrahim, represents Kwara south in the eight Senate and was the Senate committee chairman on banking.
