In a bold demonstration of his unwavering commitment to the advancement of education, the Senator representing Osun Central Senatorial District, and Senate Committee on Environment, Senator Olubiyi Fadeyi Ajagunnla has donated a brand new 500kVA transformer to the Federal University of Agriculture and Development Studies, Iragbiji, Osun State.
The donation reflects the senator’s strong belief that education should take place in a conducive environment, where reliable power supply plays a crucial role in facilitating academic excellence, research, innovation, and overall student welfare.
Speaking during the formal handover of the transformer, Senator Fadeyi emphasized the importance of infrastructure in the development of educational institutions. He noted that access to uninterrupted electricity is essential for the smooth running of laboratories, digital classrooms, administrative offices, and student hostels.
“Education is the bedrock of national development. As a representative of the people, it is my duty to ensure our institutions are adequately supported. With this transformer, I hope to enhance the university’s capacity to function optimally and improve the overall learning environment,” Senator Fadeyi stated.
The management of the university expressed deep appreciation for the senator’s timely intervention, describing the donation as a game-changer for the institution. The Vice Chancellor, in his remarks, highlighted that the transformer would significantly reduce the school’s reliance on generators and minimize disruptions to academic activities caused by power outages.
The initiative is part of Senator Fadeyi’s broader agenda to promote education, youth empowerment, and infrastructural development across Osun Central. In recent times, he has spearheaded several projects aimed at improving access to quality education and fostering sustainable community growth.
The performing Senator, Olubiyi Fadeyi Ajagunnla has installed 25 Transformers across Osun Central. Recently, the Senator donated and installed 500kva to Federal University of Health Sciences Teaching Hospital Ila-Orangun.
This donation is expected to go a long way in supporting the university’s mission to produce skilled graduates equipped to contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s agricultural and technological sectors.
